Welcome to Hitoteka. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our music quiz app.
Data We Collect
We collect the following types of data:
- Account information: Email address and username when you create an account
- Game statistics: Your scores, achievements, and gameplay history
- Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting
- Usage data: App interactions and preferences for improving the experience
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide and improve the game experience
- Sync your progress across devices
- Display leaderboards and rankings
- Send important service notifications
- Analyze app performance and fix issues
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on cloud servers with industry-standard encryption. Some data is also stored locally on your device (game history, preferences) using encrypted local storage.
We retain your data as long as your account is active. After account deletion, your data is permanently erased within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
You can request data deletion at any time through Settings > Privacy & Security > Delete Account.
Advertising
Hitoteka displays ads provided by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, the following data may be collected:
- Advertising identifiers (Apple IDFA on iOS, Google Advertising ID on Android)
- IP address and approximate location (country/region level)
- Device information (model, operating system, screen size)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
On iOS, you will be asked for permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt before any advertising identifier is accessed. You can change this at any time in your device settings.
Google AdMob may share data with third-party ad networks to serve relevant ads. If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you will be shown a consent dialog (powered by Google UMP) before personalized ads are displayed. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized. You can update your ad preferences at any time in the app under Settings > Manage Ad Preferences.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
Premium Supporters who purchase the one-time "Premium Supporter" in-app purchase will no longer see banner or interstitial ads. Rewarded video ads remain available as an optional feature.

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Apple Music API: For fetching song preview URLs and artwork (no subscription required)
- Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements (see Advertising section above)
- Firebase: For analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, performance monitoring, and remote configuration (if consented)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Export your data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing (Settings > Privacy & Security)
Note: In multiplayer mode, your username, score, and game actions are visible to other players in the same lobby in real-time.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Hitoteka.
